Meet Your Makers

Two women smiling and holding tote bags that say "Make and Take Art Studio" outside a building with a glass door.

Currently, we, Sarah and Jen are the experienced, passionate teachers at Make and Take Art Studio. Our goal is to provide warmth, skill, and creativity to every workshop we lead; and together we cultivate a supportive environment where people feel encouraged to experiment, grow, and discover their unique artistic voices.

Jen has been a practicing artist ever since she was a child. She went to Montserrat College of Art 2003-2007 and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts and a license to teach Pre-k to 8th Grade. She returned to school after teaching art in Lynn, MA to obtain her master’s degree in Teaching Art at SSU, shortly after having her first baby.

She, by trade, is a landscape painter; however having children and painting wasn’t the best medium, so she moved through a few hobbies that sparked joy. She works with leather, sews, embroiders, and does sublimation. All of these mediums all connect to make an artistically happy mom of four.

Sarah has been crocheting since she was 19, developing a signature style that grew into her own line of patterns. Creator of the giant crochet eggs and the painted mural installation at The Ugly Mug Diner, she blends fiber art and visual design with playful confidence. A knowledgeable home sewist and fashion design enthusiast, Sarah brings keen technical skill and a strong creative eye to every project. With 20 years in the beauty industry—specializing in bridal hair design—she understands style, detail, and the importance of thoughtful presentation. Sarah is supportive, open-minded, and patient, helping people discover their inner creativity and guiding makers of all levels to express themselves with skill and joy.
